For the second date, the anniversary, and every good night in between.
Updated October 2026
Brooklyn does date night well: candlelit wine bars, neighborhood queer bars with backyards, and restaurants where you can actually hear each other. This guide focuses on Park Slope, Prospect Heights and Greenpoint, with a few neighbors, and leans on places our community recommends. For more on meeting people and dating in the city, see our guide to sapphic dating in NYC.
A tip before the list: book the restaurant, wing the bar. A reservation takes the stress out of dinner; a bar you can walk into afterwards keeps the night open-ended.
Still looking for the person to sit across the candle from? 10th Muses, a social club for queer and lesbian women, trans and nonbinary folks, 30+, offers opt-in personal introductions and a current events calendar. Membership is free.
Fifth Avenue is Park Slope's queer bar strip: Ginger's, the neighborhood lesbian bar, and Good Judy, an LGBTQ+ bar, are both on the avenue, which makes it easy to start in one and move on.
For dinner, Pasta Louise on Eighth Avenue is a handmade-pasta neighborhood favorite in South Slope.
Sofreh, a Persian restaurant on St Marks Avenue, is a special-occasion favorite. Pasta Night on Vanderbilt Avenue is queer-owned and lives up to its name.
Glasserie, a Levantine-Mediterranean restaurant in an old glass factory on Commercial Street, is a beautiful room for a long dinner.
Pick one neighborhood and stay in it: a walk between dinner and drinks is part of the date, a cab across the borough is not. Choose a first stop where you sit side by side or at a small table rather than across a loud room. And have a third place in mind — a park, a late bakery, a bookstore — in case the night wants to keep going.
For the date after this one, the 10th Muses "Brooklyn, Believe the Hype!" group on WhatsApp is where Brooklyn members share hangs, tips and local meetups, a quietly reliable source of sapphic date-night ideas.
Each card links to the venue's page in our community directory.
Ginger's on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope is a long-running lesbian bar, and Fifth Avenue has other LGBTQ+ bars, such as Good Judy.
Park Slope, Prospect Heights and Greenpoint all pack restaurants, wine bars and queer bars into walkable streets, so you can move from dinner to drinks without a cab.
Every venue here is recommended in the 10th Muses community directory, and several are queer-owned or LGBTQ+ bars.
