Walking into a new doctor’s office shouldn’t mean bracing yourself. For queer women, trans, and nonbinary people, that bracing is too familiar — the wrong pronoun on the intake form, the raised eyebrow at your partner. 10th Muses brings together the doctors, therapists, and mental health providers our members have found who don’t make you do that work. This is a starting point built by people who needed the same thing you do.
Look for providers our members describe as easy to be fully honest with — about your body, your relationships, your history — without translation or defense. A good fit here is measured by how a member felt walking out, not by a credential alone.
Below are the doctors, therapists, and mental health providers members have gone to and would return to. These aren’t endorsements from strangers — they’re shared because someone in this community felt cared for.
Every provider on this page came from a member who saw them and spoke up about it. We follow up on repeat mentions, retire names that stop getting good word of mouth, and never publish a recommendation we haven’t heard more than once. General information only — always confirm care details directly with the provider.
Access matters as much as fit — how far you’ll travel, what’s near a subway line, what exists in your borough versus a trip away. Below, a look at where our members have found care across NYC boroughs and the LA area.
